Afternoon at the Park

We love a fun afternoon at the park!

First we started out with bubbles.....

Then Ben and Daddy played a little baseball (Ben's new favorite pastime)

Kate & I fed the ducks....

Then Kate wanted in on the baseball fun!

Kate is since now the proud owner of her own pink glove and pink baseball!

And we finished up with a little ball rolling!

Bluebonnet Bonanza

For the second year in a row, we have taken bluebonnet pictures with our neighbors in a cemetary that happens to be very picturesque! The cemetary part is up on a hill and the rest is just an open field. It's nice because it is far off the road so the kids can just run around. I love the rustic fence and pond in the background. Last year there were cows too but this year they were no where to be found! After all the pictures we had burgers at Mooyah. What a fun day!

I love the group shot on the fence! Left to right: Shawn, Ben, Sean, Adam, Hadley, Kate and little Reese is playing it safe on the ground- so cute!

Yes, a few bluebonnets were harmed in the making of these photos. Kate and Hadley picked a bouquet before they were told to stop so please don't report us! ;)

Actually after a little more research, I think there is no law about picking bluebonnets! It's an urban myth- who knew?!?

Easter Weekend with Grammy & Gran

We had a great weekend celebrating Easter with Grammy & Gran!

Ben & Kate LOVED dyeing eggs! This was the first year we have done it. When we were finished they weren't ready for it to be over so we broke out the Easter stickers!

Later that morning we went to the park and rode bikes.

They also did quite a bit of painting in the backyard with some supplies from Grammy.

Easter morning, Ben & Kate awoke to find the Easter Bunny had left their Easter baskets on the back porch and hid all of the dyed eggs for them to find so they went on an egg hunt in their jammies! Somehow that clever Easter Bunny knew that they love Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! Minnie is holding a pack of lip gloss and Mickey is holding chalk eggs.

That afternoon we went to yet another park and played then flew kites.

Kate for some reason thought the kite flying was terrifying! I'm not sure if it was the particular kites we had (they were Plex from Yo Gabba Gabba kites- which she likes) but something about the flapping in the air was very upsetting for her. Ben loved it however!

Thanks Grammy & Gran for a great weekend! Come see us again soon!

Arboretum Fun!

A few Mondays back we went to the Arboretum with our neighbor friends! We brushed goats, got our faces painted, enjoyed a Kindermusik class and had a picnic. What fun!

Me & my little guy!

Brushing the sheep- check out the chicken sitting on the sheep!

Getting their faces painted! I tried to convince Kate to get a sweet little butterfly or something like that but oh no- she wanted a pink Spiderman!

The finished products!

The whole gang with facepaint- Adam's was the funniest! Cracks me up!

Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt & Brunch

Last weekend we hosted an Easter Egg Hunt and a brunch for our neighbors. We tried to get a group picture and this was the best we could do! From the back, left to right is: Gabriel, Jordan, Hadley, Erik, Sean, Kate, Ben, Shawn, Adam, Trevor, Reese and Noelle and somehow we are missing Kinsley!

Here is Ben hunting for some eggs.

Everyone looking for eggs!

Recharging after the hunt with some brunch!

Mark stealing, err, checking out the kids Easter candy.

Afterwards we brought out the best investment ever- our bounce house!

We had a great time! As a child, I still remember our neighborhood Easter egg hunt so it gives me great joy to be able to host one for my children and our wonderful neighbors!

Adventures with Bubbie & Zayde

A week ago I had to go to a speech therapy convention in Fort Worth so Bubbie was nice enough to come watch Ben & Kate so I could go. She stayed a week and we had so many adventures!

We went to our friend Leah's birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. Kate doesn't looked thrilled to be so close to Chuck E but he interuppted our Dance Dance Revolution so we had to oblige him with a picture!

We also went to the mall to get our picture taken with the Easter Bunny himself. This is our third year with this bunny!

Afterwards we played at the mall play area with our friends.

Bubbie caught some cute pictures of Ben & Kate sweetness during snack time.

Bubbie, Zayde & Daddy took Ben & Kate to their MyGym class on Saturday. Here they are "warming up" at circle time.

They also went to the park to play and feed the ducks.

(Note Kate's cheerleading top and Ben's spiderman glasses to put some creative flair in their outfits!)
It was a great visit and we squeezed in an early Passover Seder too. Thanks Bubbie & Zayde for coming to visit! We love you!
