Top 5 Reasons to Love CHARLESTON!

This post is long over due- Mark & I took a trip alone to Charleston the week of Valentine's Day. Needless to say we have a new favorite American city! So here's a quick post about it. More to come soon!

Reason #1: THE HISTORY!
Charleston has been around since the 1700s - so there is a lot of Revolutionary War history, not to mention all the Civil War history. The first shots were fired at Fort Sumter! There are also lots of restored homes and plantations oozing with history!

Reason #2: THE FOOD!
Charleston is a foodie town and the restaurants are on par with those in New Orleans. Every meal we had was AMAZING. Shrimp & Grits is a traditonal meal.

Reason #3: THE GARDENS
We went a bit early in the year but the gardens and landscapes are just gorgeous! Next time we will visit in April!

Reason #4: THE CUTE HOUSES
In the historic district every house is adorable! I want to live in every one of them. And you see this Lyre symbol (which is near and dear to my heart as it is the Alpha Chi Omega symbol which was my college sorority).

Reason #5:  GREAT HOTELS!
We loved our hotel! Wine and cheese every night was served every evening. What's not to like!?!

And not to mention the water!

I have so many more pictures to come!
